We would like to introduce the newest member of the Meseret for Women. This is Aregash, 22 years old, and her son is Bereket, just 23 days old when this photo was taken. Aregash’s story is typical of many single mother’s in Ethiopia. She was working as a maid and fell pregnant. Pregnant out of wedlock, she lost her job, she was outcast from her family, friends and society, with no access to welfare or social support. Luckily, MfW was informed about Aregash by the hospital where she gave birth, so we were able to welcome here into the house.
